What makes this guitar worth your attention?
From the outset, Joe and I wanted this SSC to be a special one. I specified the guitar, and Joe picked an exceptional tight tiger-striped Tier 1 top. He thought Vintage Burst would be a spectacular complement to the figure, and I think he was exactly right.
What really separates this guitar, though, is the solid old-growth Brazilian rosewood neck, fingerboard and headstock. To my knowledge, it is the only Steve Stevens SSC ever built with this combination. The Brazilian rosewood is extraordinary, both visually and as part of the character of the instrument.
The custom-wound Bare Knuckle Steve Stevens Signature humbuckers were the right choice for this guitar. They give it the power and authority you expect from an SSC while allowing the character of the instrument to come through. Peter Wolf summed it up perfectly when he saw it: “This is a gorgeous guitar, a special guitar for sure.”
